Personal Experience:

ñ       Since 2011 writing personal applications using Swing(for desktop applications) and Web applications(Using Spring MVC) and Spring IOC and Dependency injection, Hibernate, JPA, and/or Spring JDBC, and jQuery/jQuery UI(for Javascript), Less(for CSS), and Apache Shiro(for security)

ñ       From 1992 until about 2002 & a few years beyond, all of my personal applications were written using C++ utilizing operator overloading, pointer manipulation agility, & full mastery of the language & its structures

ñ       Since 2002, I've been writing personal applications in Java using Swing, JDBC, Apache libraries, JavaBeans, XML libraries (like DOM, SAX, Xpath), Maven, Spring, Struts, Hibernate and 3^rd party supplemental libraries(like iText and POI)

ñ       Since 2000, I've been writing web applications using classic ASP at first, ASP.Net, and PHP, then in 2005 in JSP/Servlets
